Yoga classes for all abilities
Forrest Yoga
Mondays, 7:15-8:15pm. Wellness Warriors Yoga Studio, Modbury.
Forrest yoga has a strong emphasis on building core and shoulder strength. This style is considered more a style of yoga as exercise and it is known for its long holding of postures and cultivating a deeper connection to yourself. This practice will take place in a heated space (not a Forest) and gets its name from its founder Ana T. You can expect the first 15 minuets of this class to be core exercises and there are options for some challenging postures throughout.
Hot Vinyasa
Fridays 7-8am. Wellness Warriors Yoga Studio, Modbury.
This playful style of yoga incorporates fast-flowing movements where you will move from pose to pose, with a strong focus on the breath. You can expect poses to enhance your flexibility, challenging balances, get upside down, raising your heartbeat and a chance to wring out the entire body. The joy of doing this in a heated space is that it challenges your current practice and allows you to go deeper into the postures.
Vinyasa Flow
Thursdays, 6-7pm. Harbour House, Kingsbridge.
This playful style of yoga incorporates fast-flowing movements where you will move from pose to pose, with a strong focus on the breath. Yin Yoga and Thai Massage
Once/month, 6:30-8pm. Next 17th January Wellness Warriors Yoga Studio, Modbury.
Yin yoga, with its slow, meditative approach, works deeply into the connective tissues, promoting flexibility and encouraging energy flow throughout the body. Held for longer periods, these poses allow for a deeper release of tension and emotional blockages, helping you to find balance and inner peace.
When combined with massage therapy, the benefits are amplified. Massage can further relax tight muscles, enhance circulation, and release fascia, supporting the body's ability to soften into the postures of yin yoga. The gentle touch and focused pressure of massage enhance the mind-body connection, allowing for a profound sense of relaxation and rejuvenation.
